The Shoot-Out is held at Bogey's Golf & Family Entertainment Center.

Adopter of Richland Elementary School

East Memphis Kiwanis is the adopter of Richland Elementary School. At Richland, we regularly host Terrific Kids award ceremonies, which provide motivation, encouragement, and recognition for kids who meet goals in behavior, peer relationships, attendance, and school work.

Annual Pancake Breakfast

In conjunction with Downtown Memphis Kiwanis, East Memphis Kiwanis hosts an annual Pancake Breakfast at Christian Brothers High School. Kiwanis members cook and serve all the pancakes and sausage you can eat, plus juice and coffee, for a small donation per person. All profits from Pancake Day are returned to the community in the form of contributions to Kiwanis Charities, Inc., Hope House, Key Clubs, Terrific Kids, C.O.M.E.C., Youth Villages, and many more.

MIFA Meals on Wheels

East Memphis Kiwanians help deliver meals to Memphis senior citizens through Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association's Meals on Wheels program. This is one of MIFA's largest, with more than 100 volunteers delivering about 3,000 hot meals to senior citizens at homes and other sites each weekday and certain Saturdays throughout the year. It takes nearly $3 million in funding to make the Meals program's mission a daily reality.

Our Causes

Sharing Kiwanis' mission of helping children in need, here are some of the organizations that benefit from the volunteer and fundraising efforts of East Memphis Kiwanis.

Hope House

Hope House is a non-profit agency committed to family-centered, community-based, coordinated care for children ages six weeks through six years who are infected or affected by HIV and AIDS (Pediatric AIDS). Its mission is to address the medical, psychological and educational needs of HIV affected children and their families, as well as the complicated social issues often present due to poverty, lack of education, and substance abuse. By providing pre-school education, day care services, respite care, and 24-hour emergency care, Hope House is filling a void that existed in the continuum of care for HIV positive families in the Memphis area. Hope House is the only facility in the State of Tennessee designed to meet the unique needs of HIV affected children.

Youth Villages

East Memphis Kiwanis assists Youth Villages, an organization committed to helping troubled children and their families. With a 19-year track record, Youth Villages offers a variety of programs and services, including home-based counseling, residential treatment, therapeutic foster care, adoption services, family-based care for children with developmental disabilities, and crisis services.

Commission on Missing and Exploited Children

The Commission on Missing and Exploited Children (COMEC) was established to promote the safety and welfare of all children in our community. COMEC offers free programs that are educational and prevention oriented. These programs are offered to the school systems, PTO/PTA groups, teachers in-service and many other forums. COMEC also is involved in a vast referral Network that is designed toward locating missing children. COMEC also offers free drug testing for teens and free identification cards and fingerprinting for children.
